Which PWAS hardware fits your machine?
Choose the detection method first, then the model — the right answer depends on the machine and the site conditions:
- AI camera PWAS — cameras with an edge AI processor that classify people, vehicles and objects. The most precise at telling a person from an object; less reliable in dust storms or direct low-angle sun. SNTech's AI camera systems come in 4-, 6- and 8-camera configurations, and the 8-camera adds built-in driver monitoring (DMS) — ask for their datasheets.
- Radar PWAS — 77 GHz radar that works the same in darkness, dust and glare. The PWAS-R180 is a front-facing 180° unit (0.5–30 m, three configurable alert zones, IP68) for excavators, bulldozers and reach stackers; the PWAS-R360 uses four radar units and a central controller for full-perimeter coverage up to 30 m on large cranes, port RTGs and mobile plant.
- UWB tag PWAS — personnel wear a vest-clip tag and machines carry an anchor, locating workers precisely even indoors or underground. Protects only people wearing a tag.
- Combo PWAS — radar for range, AI vision for classification and UWB tags for identity on one on-device fusion engine, recording who, when and how far for every event, with the ARAMCO & NEOM submission package included.

What is the detection range of each PWAS type?
The PWAS-AI camera system detects up to 15 m; the PWAS-R180 radar covers 0.5–30 m across 180°; the PWAS-R360 covers up to 30 m all the way around the machine; and the PWAS-TAG UWB system works up to 200 m with line of sight.
How quickly does PWAS alert the operator?
The PWAS-AI camera system responds in under 200 milliseconds, and the PWAS-TAG system raises a zone-breach alert in under 100 milliseconds. Alerts are delivered as vibration, audible and visual warnings.
Which PWAS models meet ARAMCO and NEOM requirements?
The models listed on this page are designed to meet ARAMCO GI-7.030 and NEOM HSE requirements; the PWAS-R360 is ARAMCO and NEOM certified, and the combo system includes the ARAMCO & NEOM submission package. SNTech prepares the GI-7.030 submission for clients.
Does PWAS record incidents for HSE reporting?
Yes. The PWAS-AI system keeps a timestamped event log, the PWAS-TAG system feeds a cloud location dashboard, and the combo system records who, when and at what distance for every event — the kind of record GI-7.030's quarterly verification asks operators to produce on demand.
How long does a UWB tag battery last?
PWAS-TAG personnel tags have a 12-month battery life, in a rugged vest-clip form factor.
Is driver monitoring (DMS) available with PWAS?
