Which tracker fits your fleet?
Start with three questions rather than the spec sheet: does the vehicle have an OBD-II port, is it hardwired heavy equipment that needs telemetry beyond location, or does the asset have no power supply of its own?
- S21L — the default for cars and light commercial vehicles. Plugs into the OBD-II port and self-installs in about five minutes; the natural choice for passenger fleets and rental cars.
- R12L — trucks, buses and construction machinery. Hardwired and IP67-rated for harsh Saudi conditions, with 9–100 V DC input, RS-232/RS-485 ports and CAN bus integration.
- R56L — cranes, excavators, generators and trailers that need machine telemetry. Reads CAN J1939, OBD-II and K-Line, takes a fuel-level sensor input and LMI data, and has 2G fallback plus an internal backup battery.
- W18L — assets with no power of their own. A battery-powered BLE + GPS tag with a 3-year battery life for trailers, containers and portable generators, with motion-triggered wake and an optional magnetic mount.

Which GPS tracker should I use for trucks versus cars?
For cars and light commercial vehicles with an OBD-II port, the S21L plugs straight in. For trucks and buses, the hardwired, IP67-rated R12L is built for harsh conditions. If you also need engine, fuel or LMI data from heavy equipment such as cranes and excavators, choose the R56L.
Can I track trailers and containers that have no power supply?
Yes. The W18L is a battery-powered BLE + GPS tag with a 3-year battery life, designed for non-powered assets such as trailers, containers and portable generators. It wakes on motion and is IP65-rated.
Can I install the tracker myself?
The S21L, yes: it plugs into the OBD-II port and self-installs in about five minutes. The R12L and R56L are hardwired into the vehicle, and SNTech's team installs, configures and trains your staff on-site.
Do the trackers work on Saudi mobile networks?
Yes. Every model ships with a local SIM option for Saudi networks, and the S21L also supports eSIM. The S21L uses 4G LTE Cat-M1, the R12L 4G LTE Cat-1, and the R56L 4G LTE with 2G fallback; the W18L uses BLE and GPS with optional NB-IoT.
Can tracker data go into our own ERP?
Yes. SNTech trackers provide an open API, so fleet data can flow straight into your ERP as well as, or instead of, SNTech's cloud dashboard.
Can the trackers detect fuel theft?
Yes, when paired with a fuel sensor. The FLV-01 ultrasonic fuel level sensor works with the R12L and R56L, detects sudden level drops without drilling the tank, and calculates fuel consumption per kilometre.
